Ken Belcher

Ken graduated in 2006 from the University of Southern California with a Bachelor of Music in Studio/Jazz Guitar Performance. At USC he studied with Adam del Monte, Frank Potenza, David Oakes, Richard Smith, Steve Trovato, Pat Kelley, Nick Stubis and Anthony Wilson.

In addition to The Jazz Three-O, Ken plays with several bands in the Los Angeles area. He works as half of a duo with Paul Dateh as well as playing in the band, Paul Dateh and the Live Movement. He is the guitarist in Sun Engine, playing Kevin Bachelder's original music; in the cover band Fastback and in Brandon Schwartz's band. Absolute Stereo features his original music. Ken enjoys arranging many of The Jazz Three-O tunes. In the last year he has worked on many recording projects, including the Kaile Goh project with producer Bobby Brooks.

Ken started playing piano at age 4 and guitar at 10. He won numerous awards for his original music in his pre-college life. In high school he sang in both classical and jazz choirs, studied classical voice and classical guitar and performed lead roles in musicals. He has done pit band work and was a guitarist on a cruise ship. He presently teaches private guitar out of his home and at Graysons Tune Town in Montrose, California. He teaches group guitar to middle schoolers at New Roads School in Santa Monica. At New Roads, he also leads a rock/pop instrumental ensemble.
